Mystery Shopper Fraud Alert
It has come to our attention that NEC Corporation of America's name and email address are being used in a fraudulent "mystery shopper" scheme. This is to advise you that NEC Corporation of America is not operating or sponsoring any "mystery shopper" promotions and has not enlisted the services of a consumer survey firm for any such purpose. We have reported this information to and are working with law enforcement authorities to handle the matter.
 
The fraud appears to target general consumers and consists of a promotional form and a fake check, both bearing NEC Corporation of America's name, that is mailed to the consumer. Consumers are advised that the promotion and check are not legitimate and should not cash the check.
 
Should you receive promotional material asking you to participate in a "mystery shopper" promotion in NEC's name, please mail or fax a copy of the documents to the following address:
