It is a self-contained device capable of using fingerprint image processing to perform fast 1:1 verification and 1:N identification.

NEC's FastID system includes a client software that contains modules for finger image capture, quality check and fingerprint template extraction. NEC's QualityCheck™ technology helps maintain database integrity by ensuring the fingerprints are captured in the best possible manner and quality. QualityCheck provides real-time image quality assessment and feedback. It automatically and immediately provides an assessment of the scanned finger image, and informs the operator how to accurately position the finger to capture the best possible fingerprint quality. This assessment is performed prior to updating the finger imaging system files. The quality threshold is adjustable and can be raised or lowered based on the operational environment.

Highly Scalable & Customizable
Built upon an open architecture, FastID is hardware and software agnostic. It can be integrated easily and quickly with a wide variety of applications, such as AFIS, mugshot systems, criminal history systems, and wants/warrants systems, providing maximum flexibility. FastID can also be integrated easily with NEC's LiveScan™ and Integra-ID™ solutions, or other third-party single-finger scanners.

Simple, Comprehensive Administrative Management
FastID provides detailed, cumulative user and administrative reports, making it easy to track and audit user activities. The reports can be customizable to meet different requirements, and can include information such as type of searches, 1:1 scores, key numbers used, 1:N scores, input terminal and operator. Built with convenience and ease-of-use in mind, FastID allows administrators to easily assign user levels and privileges, update user profiles, and perform database updates. In addition, FastID offers a graphical user interface and easy-to-follow instructions, which minimizes user training and accelerates adoption.
