NEC's ChildID™ system puts power in the hands of parents and guardians by making it easy for them to maintain up-to-date identification information for their children. A turnkey solution, ChildID captures the child's photograph as well as digital fingerprint images, and a printed ChildID information sheet is given to the parent or the guardian. The demographic information can be added to the back of the document later or at the time the images are captured-no information about the child is retained in the computer system-which protects privacy and ensures security.
If a child is missing, the parents or the guardians can immediately provide the ChildID information sheet to authorities, instead of answering a long list of questions about the child's physical appearance. This empowers the authorities to take actions in the shortest time possible.
