NEC Receives Optical Infrastructure Accolade at NXTcomm2007
NEC Corporation of America proudly received an Eos Excellence of Achievement recognition in the Backbone/Core Network Deployment category at NXTcomm 2007. This acknowledgement highlighted NEC's work with General Communication, Inc. (GCI), Alaska's premier integrated telecommunications company. Working with GCI, NEC has deployed high-capacity optical transport solutions to provide long-distance voice, video and data services to residential, commercial and government properties throughout the Alaskan region.

NEC's SpectralWave™ optical networking solutions dynamically add new dimensions to flat optical networks. Leveraging NEC's reliability and performance, these next-generation systems offer open architecture, small footprint and combination of leading-edge DWDM and optical amplifier technologies, making them the ideal choice for building high-capacity telecommunications networks of the future.

Proven DWDM optical technology provides carriers with a high-capacity, reliable and cost-effective mesh network solution with a smaller footprint requiring less power and maintenance and providing the cost savings necessary to build or enhance a modern carrier-class, next-generation network.

CX2600/200 Series
CX2600 Service Convergence Switches offer wireline and wireless carriers a compact aggregation solution to seamlessly and cost effectively support migration from current TDM and ATM networks to an all-IP network. The CX2600 Series' flexible architecture supports simultaneous circuit and packet switching on a single hybrid switch card, enabling native, DS0-granular TDM multiplexing and transport along with native IP transport.

SpectralWave MW0500
SpectralWave MW0500 service delivery systems use Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM) to provide an economical and easy to deploy solution for delivery of a wide variety of services. MW0500 systems transmit up to four bidirectional wavelengths over a single fiber core.

SpectralWave 160
NEC's high-density DWDM system, the SpectralWave 160 system uses ITU-defined 50 GHz wavelength spacing in both the C-band and L-band to transport up to 160 2.5 Gb/s and/or 10 Gb/s wavelengths on a single fiber.

SpectralWave U-Node
A next-generation multi-function node that allows you to aggregate, groom and transport both SONET/SDH and IP traffic, SpectralWave U-Node features compact size and deployment flexibility that make it an ideal solution for virtually any access, interoffice or core application.

SpectralWave DW4200
SpectralWave DW4200 offers full ROADM capability for flexible multiplexing and transport of up to 40 C-band or L-band optical wavelengths.

SpectralWave PON
The SpectralWave PON system encompasses the NEC AM 31 Optical Line Terminal (OLT) and the ME200 ONT/ONU (Optical Network Terminal/Unit) systems to provide a comprehensive FTTX solution for today's converged service provider environment.
