System Integrity: where conventional servers pass hardware errors directly to the operating system or hypervisor, the NEC FT Series Servers isolate errors through the Gemini Engine. Through complete system comparison, errors that would typically result in unstable system operation, are isolated - without interruption of service.
Increased I/O bandwidth: since the FT Servers feature additional I/O slots, that provide more connections, the FT Server offers increased I/O connectivity. HBAs and Network cards can be teamed on the server, providing not only redundancy but also load balancing.
Module Warranty: through comparison, the FT Server keeps track of each time an error occurs on a specific system. If the module exceeds the MTBF rating, NEC will replace the module under warranty without question. This significantly reduces the effort by IT Staff to determine cause of failures, as well as requests to replace equipment that may have transient errors.
Service without outage: through the Gemini Engine, the FT Server has the ability to be serviced without outage. Entire system modules can be replaced, and are brought back into lockstep simply and without operator intervention.
Remote Monitoring: with the combination of integrated lights out, redundant service processors and NEC ESMPro and DinaScope, the NEC FT Server is designed to not only stay running but to integrate into existing network environments seamlessly. All events are recorded locally in non-volatile memory, as well as reported in band as well as out of band through the redundant service ports.
On-line BIOS Upgrades: through the redundant service processors and advanced Gemini Engine, the FT Server can have BIOS updates performed without operating system / hypervisor outage. This considerably reduces planned down time and can be performed remote.
