The NEC SIGMABLADE B120a-d is an innovative two-socket blade server based on an energy efficient design and the Intel Xeon 5500 Series. The B120a blade server is one of the only blade servers designed to boot from a SAN enabling it for virtualization solutions with the lowest total cost of ownership.

The NEC blade server is designed for application compatibility and high availability in a choice of configurations. With very high quality ratings the SIGMABLADE B120a-d server can outlast other servers, delivering the best overall total cost of ownership and excellent value.

High Performance
Taking advantage of performance optimization for virtualized environments using the new Intel processors, the SIGMABLADE B120a-d can achieve significant overall throughput performance improvement over the previous models. The B120a-d includes Intel's Quick Path Interconnect (QPI) technology to increase performance through efficient memory access. Peak performance enables greater efficiency to run your standard applications, clustered applications, databases, and popular hypervisor platform solutions making your data center dynamic, manageable, and energy efficient in the most extensive virtualized environments.

The SIGMABLADE B120a-d is designed for virtualization solutions. Server virtualization, in particular, requires not only high performance, but higher server bandwidth to handle the increased volume of application and device communications of a virtualized environment. NEC had the foresight early on to include more I/O ports in the NEC Express5800 SIGMABLADES to address this need; as well as the increased memory, compatibility with high availability software, and integrated system management central to a smart server virtualization solution.
