The D-Series of Enterprise Modular Storage (EMS) is built on NEC's proven advanced storage technologies. The D Series can scale from 219GB up to 1.152 PB's of capacity. Performance is achieved by utilizing ultra-high speed host fibre channel interfaces, large cache capacity, and high performance SAS high density disk drives. Business continuity is enhanced with the use of resilient RAID 6 double parity technology and RAID TM (triple mirror), which tolerates two simultaneous drive failures to reduce costly downtime. Patented Phoenix Technology automates self-recovery of failed drives by separating them from the RAID group to perform background diagnostics and can reduce the need to do rebuild by 30 to 50 percent.
