Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Selects NEC

Irving, Texas � February 17, 2015 � NEC Corporation of America (NEC), a leading provider and integrator of advanced IT, communications, network managed services and multimodal biometric solutions, today announced that it was awarded a multi-year biometrics service contract with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), the largest police department in Nevada, overseeing a city of more than 2 million residents and one of the world's top tourist destinations.

NEC shall deliver its new Integra-ID 5� multimodal biometric identification system (MBIS) upgrade to LVMPD as a service, meaning NEC hosts and manages the solution at its data center. New services and upgrades include advanced latent fingerprint processing including multi-algorithm encoding and fusion matching on NEC's best-in-class Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) platform that easily scales to meet future needs that arise. NEC's Integra-ID 5� SOA has built-in support of numerous biometrics modalities, including fingerprint, palm print, face, iris, and voice.

The LVMPD project is one of several managed service contracts awarded to NEC in the past three months, distinguishing NEC as a premier provider of the Identity as a Service (IDaaS) model to law enforcement agencies in North America.
