Perchlorate Contamination Prevention Act

The California Legislature passed the Perchlorate Contamination Prevention Act of 2003 requiring the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) to adopt best management practices regulations for perchlorate materials. The perchlorate regulations require that those who manufacture products, or who bring products into California for distribution, label those products to inform consumers of the perchlorate content. The information may appear on the product itself, on the product label, in a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), or on a product insert.
