NEC Tees Off with 2016 Volunteers of America Texas Shootout
With Sponsorship, NEC Lines Up Behind the Only Texas-Based LPGA Event
Irving, Texas - April 20, 2016 - NEC Corporation of America (NEC), a leading
provider and integrator of advanced IT, communications, networking and biometric solutions, today announced that it is a major sponsor of
the 2016 Volunteers of America Texas Shootout being held at Las Colinas Country Club April 25- May 1. The Shootout is the only LPGA Tour
event held in Texas and has commitments from 19 of the top 20 female golfers in the world.
NEC has a long history of supporting professional golf, having sponsored PGA events for many years. The "shootout" format of the
tournament will consist of two cuts; the first will be made after the second round to the top-70 and ties, and the second cut will be made
to the top-50 and ties after the third round on Saturday. The tournament also provides a unique opportunity for High School and College
amateur female players to tee it up against the best players in the world through two qualifying "Shootouts". The top two finishers from
each shootout qualify for a spot in the Volunteers of America Texas Shootout.

benefits the community where our employees live and work," said Shinsuke (Shin) Takahashi, president and CEO, NEC Corporation of America.
"NEC and golf have been linked for many years and this opportunity in our back yard uses a high profile stage to help improve societal
standards of living. At NEC, we practice a core value we refer to as "solutions for society," and this is a wonderful way for our
employees to be involved and express it."
Formerly known as the North Texas LPGA Shootout, The Volunteers of America -- a religious-based nonprofit organization that provides
affordable housing and other assistance, primarily to low-income people throughout the United States -- became the title sponsor in 2015.
It will be televised by the Golf Channel and the event website is: www.lpgatexasshootout.com.
